A magnitude 3.7 earthquake hit near Anthony, in Harper County overnight.

The United States Geological Survey reports it happened a little before 3:46 a.m.

There were several small earthquakes that hit that area recently.  Another one hit there Wednesday morning. That earthquake was classified as a 3.4 on the Richter Scale.

The USGS says there has been at least 8 earthquakes recorded in that area in just the past year.

Gov. Sam Brownback last month asked the director of the Kansas Geological Survey to lead a task force that'll study whether human activity is causing an increase in minor earthquakes in Kansas.
