GOODLAND, Kan. -

A woman has been critically injured after an explosion at a western Kansas home.

It happened in Goodland, on 9th Street, around 11:15 a.m. Friday.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the home. A woman was home at the time and suffered critical burns.

A spokeswoman from the State Fire Marshal's Office said a woman was flown to a Denver hospital for treatment.

The case is being investigated as arson. No damage estimate has been released.

The State Fire Marshal is working with Goodland Police on the investigation.
