WICHITA, Kan. -

Police said a 59 year-old man was arrested in connection with a  bank robbery.

It happened about 3:30 Thursday afternoon at Credit Union of America located at  212 South Ridge Road.  Sergeant Steve Yarberry said a man walked into the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money.

Sgt. Yarberry said the man got money from two tellers and quietly left the bank in an unknown direction. Later, officers stopped a car in the 3700 block of West Central, where the man was arrested without incident. No weapon was seen or indicated.

Wichita Police quickly apprehended a suspect accused of robbing a south Wichita credit union.

Emergency crews were called to the Credit Union of America, 212 S. Ridge Road, just before 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Dispatchers said the man walked in to the bank, demanding money, then ran away. It is unknown whether the suspect had a gun.

The suspect was taken into custody in the 3800 block of west Central. The loss is unknown.
