WICHITA, Kan. -

When Bob Johnson heard about the man who died under the Seneca St. bridge his heart broke.

"I dread those phone calls. I dread going and checking on my friends under the bridges and finding another body," Johnson said.

For the last two decades Johnson has been looking out for Wichita's homeless community.

"I had a skydiving accident 23 years ago. It was a near death experience and I spoke to God and this has been my mission ever since," Johnson said.

Every Sunday Johnson and a group of friends go from park to park delivering blankets, coats, food and friendship.

"They'll take the gifts, but that's not what they really want. They want to be recognized, they want that recognition," Johnson said.

Johnson encourages everyone to get involved. For information on how you can help check out Johnson's facebook page.
