ABILENE,Kan -

After a fire destroyed a historic building in Abilene, the Great Plains Theater crew isn't letting that stop them.

Maggie Hoffman is the Executive Director of the theater and says, "The support has been overwhelming... in a good way."

The building has been a part of the community for years, but the show must go on.

Hoffman says,  "We've been selling tickets either in person or at our new location downtown or by phone or online, so everything is still up and running as it was before."

She says they have had some bumps in the road to put on the show tonight.

"Sound and lights, it's just a completely different space, but we have a great staff who was able to adjust and make it work for our needs."

Hoffman says they have still been working just as hard despite not having their theater. The group is putting on their first show of "Always...Patsy Cline" in the new location with new attitudes.

She says,  "It's been nice to just see them come and kind of embrace it for what it is and work hard to put on a good production for us."

The show runs through August 17th at Abilene High School.
