Northbound I-135 traffic will be restricted to one lane through Thursday for cleanup operations. Southbound traffic has re-opened.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a 6-mile stretch of I-135 in Harvey County will be closed for the next three hours while emergency crews work to clear the scene where a tractor trailer with hazardous materials caught fire.
The fire happened around shortly before 1 p.m. today, just north of the Harvey/McPherson County line, near mile post 43. 911 dispatchers say the truck spilled 200 gallons of pesticide.
KDOT crews have closed the both lanes of I-135, between Hesston and Moundridge, while they work to clean up the spill.
Southbound I-135 traffic has been re-routed. Drivers will now exit at Exit 48 and head south into the city of Moundridge to Old 81 Hwy.
No one was hurt in the accident.
