Westar Energy says power has been restored in west Wichita. The company blames the outage on an equipment failure in an underground line.

Now, that the power is back on, 911 dispatchers tell us the eastbound and westbound ramps to Kellogg have also been re-opened and the traffic lights are working.

A power outage in southwest Wichita is causing traffic light problems along Kellogg exits.

Emergency crews have CLOSED the eastbound and westbound ramps of Kellogg at the West Street exit while crews work to get the traffic signals fixed.

Westar Energy is currently reporting 2250 customers without power in the southwest part of town.

Friends University has also canceled all of its evening classes due to the outage.

It is being blamed on an underground equipment failure.
