TREGO COUNTY, Kan. -

A Wakeeney man will stand trial for murder after police say he fed a pregnant woman an abortion pill.

Scott Bollig, 30, will stand trial on first-degree murder and aggravated battery, a judge decided on Friday. In February, police claim Bollig confessed to crushing an abortion pill and mixing it into pancakes, then feeding them to a woman who was 8-weeks-pregnant.

Prosecutors say that after Naomi Abbott miscarried her baby on Jan. 31, doctors found traces of mifepristone in her blood.

Defense attorney's say Bollig's confession was improperly obtained and shouldn't be used.

Bollig is expected to enter a plea on September 9th.
