WICHITA, Kan. -

A man accused of shooting his wife and two sons appeared in court for a preliminary hearing Wednesday. 

Pettix McMillan was charged with three counts of attempted murder in March after his wife, 13-year-old son and 5-year old son were shot. It happened in the 300 block of N. Parkdale in west Wichita.

Sedgwick County District Judge David Dahl set a trial date for July 14 at 9 a.m. He will stand trial on three counts of attempted first degree murder for the shooting. 

McMillan is represented by attorney Steve Osborne from the Public Defenders Office.
