WICHITA, Kan. -

Two people have been arrested after a rash of thefts in south Wichita.

Officers were first called after a convenience store in the 200 block of South Hillside reported the theft. Police said a man, driving a white Chevrolet Trailblazer, robbed the Phillips 66 gas station around 8 a.m. Friday. The man then went on a crime spree, according to police.

Losses estimated at $1,000 total were reported at Walmart, Walgreens and Dillons within the hour.

Officers spotted a car matching the description in the 200 block of South Hillside. Police said the car was stocked with meat and laundry detergent.

The 59-year-old man was on parole for theft. He was booked into the Sedgwick County jail facing new theft charges.

The second suspect, a 22-year-old woman, also faces felony theft charges.
