WICHITA, Kan. -

Knee "Andi" Lam remembers an opportunity that began about 15 years ago.

"When you come to the states you receive public school, it's like you gotta get your gear on, you gotta do it," Lam said.

Her family brought her to the United States from Vietnam. Since then, she has graduated from Wichita State, and now works as an accountant for a local aircraft company.

But there is still one goal she has yet to accomplish -- becoming a U.S. citizen.

Monday will mark the end of her six-month immigration process. She is one of about 100 people who will become U.S. citizens in Wichita.

"I'm excited that I can tell people I am no longer an alien cause people think I have like tentacles around my head every time I tell them," Lam said.
