Police say a driver crashed an SUV into a home in the 3100 block of West Douglas early Tuesday morning.
The suspect then took off running, leaving the vehicle in the front yard. Police aren't sure why he crashed or if the car is even his.
Residents were home at the time of the crash. No one was injured but the home received substantial damage.
Shanice Coleman lives at the house next door. She says she woke up and the SUV was right outside of her bedroom window.
"I look out my window and really can't see nothing," Coleman says. "It's just a big white, smashed up vehicle in the yard."
Police say the incident started Monday night. That's when officers say the suspect punched a man in the face, trying to steal his car. The suspect did not get the car but followed the driver. That's when police believe he crashed into the house.
There are no answers as to why the suspect chased the driver, or why he crashed. We do know police gathered evidence at the home which they hope will help them in the investigation.
