WICHITA, Kan. -

Fire crews were called to an apartment fire in west Wichita around 8:30 tonight.

They arrived to find smoke coming from a building in the 400 block of west Central at The Riverpark Plaza apartments.

Battalion Chief Rick Bahr says initial crews made a fast attack on the fire preventing it from spreading and minimizing water damage.

Bahr says the units are mostly damaged from smoke in the building. Some occupants may still be displaced because crews had to shut power off to the building.

There were no injuries from the fire. It is currently under investigation. There are no estimates on how much damage was caused to the building.
