The question comes up every year, and especially when a team like the WSU Shockers is doing well.

Why aren't their games on KWCH, or some other free, non-cable channel?

We'd love to have them, but it's not that simple.

In most cases, the rights to those games are contacted well in advance, long before anyone knows the team is going to run off a string of wins and get to #2.

For a local station like KWCH to broadcast the games, it would require huge rights fees, plus huge investment in equipment, scheduling crews, etc.

Fortunately, most of the Shocker games ARE on television, although you may have to invest in cable, or some other system to see them.
