For Wichita State basketball fans, nothing compares to a game at the Roundhouse. Many of those fans say you can’t put a price on that kind of fun.
That's why some of them are paying four to eight times the face value to experience it.
If you want to be a part of the WSU-Indiana State game next Saturday, you’ll find tickets on Stubhub from $73 to $211. And that’s for a game that will be aired lived on television.
"It's humbling sometimes to see the type of expense that people will give to be here to support the Shocks,” said Darron Boatright, WSU’s senior associate director of athletics.
WSU started a partnership with StubHub this year - $2 from every ticket resold goes back to the university.
“It doesn't sound like a lot,” Boatright said, “but with the number of tickets that are sold a season, those are new dollars for us and it gives more fans hopefully an opportunity to participate and come see the games."
And it seems the better the Shockers play, the higher resellers ask for tickets, and the more eager fans are to get into the game.
To give you an idea of how that compares with other state universities, the highest ticket price on StubHub for the Kansas-Kansas State game at Allen Fieldhouse this weekend is nearly $2,000.
WSU’s athletic department suggests anyone who cannot use their single-game tickets to resell them on StubHub.
