WICHITA, Kan. -

Trenton Custer of Wichita, charged for his role in the murder of a man September 8, 2013 in the College Hill neighborhood, has pleaded no contest to attempted aggravated battery.

Custer's co-defendant Kyle Carter of Wichita, was found guilty of first degree murder last April and sentenced to life in prison.

During Carters trial, testimony said Carter and Custer chased Carl Cooper on foot after seeing him break into a car parked in the driveway of a home in the 400 block of south Clifton.

Cooper was caught by the men over a block away in College Hill Park and stabbed to death.

Custer will be sentenced by District Judge Greg Waller August 21st.
