A man was seriously hurt after a motorcycle accident in south Wichita.

It happened around 2 p.m. near the intersection of Pawnee and Washington when police say a car merged into a motorcyclists lane, causing him to over correct and wreck the bike.

The motorcycle was in the cars blind spot, but the driver of the vehicle didn't use their turn signal according to an eyewitness.

The two vehicles never actually collided Police Sgt. Brian Sigman says. The driver who was switching lanes was cited in the accident. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital to be treated for abrasions and head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.
