Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department.  Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets. 

These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

Spinning wheels…
8:11 am
A 64/m says someone drove a car, spun the wheels and drove in circles around the practice field in the 3100 block of W. McCormick. This is the address for Newman University.

Stolen beer…
10:48 am
A 23/m says someone stole a case of beer from a ballet outside a business in the 2500 block of E. 17th N. The guy then took off east on 17th in a vehicle. There may be surveillance video of the incident.

Backflow valves stolen…
1:36 pm
A 56/m says someone came onto property belonging to a business in the 200 block of S. Hydraulic and stole backflow valves from both sprinkler systems.

Trying to sell prescription drugs…
2:25 pm
An 18/f says someone tried to sell her prescription drugs in the 2500 block of W. 13th Street. The woman said she needed money and is pregnant, so she can’t take the pills anyway.

Scam…
3:38 pm
An 80/f says she was told by someone that she’d won a large amount of money and a vehicle. She was told to send money to someone in order to receive the prize. She sent the money and has confirmation that it was received, but she had not been awarded her prizes. She says the person contacted her again two days ago and asked her to send more money. The caller also stated “Don’t let anything happen to you”.

Christmas decoration fiasco…
9:29 pm
A 52/m says someone damaged his Christmas decorations in the 1500 block of S. Palisade. He then got into an argument with that person, who pointed a gun at him and threatened to kill him. Police have not found the guy.

Sugar in the gas tank…
12:22 am (Friday)
A 28/f says her car was vandalized. Someone, she believes she knows who, opened her fuel cap and poured sugar into her gas tank. No arrests.
