Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

A woman says her 64-year-old husband suffered a massive stroke. While in the intensive care unit at St. Francis, his wallet went missing. She wasn’t sure if any his personal information has been used illegally. Her husband is still in the hospital and she’s trying to stay by his side as much as possible. Police sent her an ID Theft Kit, just in case.
A 61/f says someone is using handicapped parking spots to park is work and personal vehicles in the 8100 block of E. 22nd. The woman who reported the incident says she is handicapped and an advocate for disabled people. She says she has not been able to use the spot while going to her doctor because he’s parked there. She says she knows the man and his family and she has seen him be violent with people and animals, so she’s afraid of him.
A 44/f who works in the 6100 block of W. Central says she received a phone call from someone who asked a lot of sexual questions. The guy then asked if she would still be there at 3:00. She is concerned for herself and her employees because of the call.
Tensions flying high…
A 40/m says he and a co-worker at Mid-Continent Airport haven’t been getting along at work. He went to upper management, but nothing was done. They were assigned to work together again and accidentally met at lunch. He says the other guy pushed him. He pushed back, then the guy put him in a headlock. Co-workers broke up the fight. The man wasn’t hurt, but still wants to press charges.
A 38/m says two people pulled in front of his car at 19th and Grove and blocked him from pulling away. He says one of the guys got out of the passenger seat and threw a brick through his driver’s side window. The window broke, but he wasn’t hurt. The two guys then followed him until he was able to shake them. The car doesn’t even belong to him. He says he’s had ongoing issues with these two.
An 18/f says she bought a phone from someone on Craigslist. She met the person and did the exchange in person. But, the phone is locked and cannot be reset, so it’s useless. She says the person who sold it to her won’t answer her calls.
A 30/m says he took his car to someone to repair the starter. When he picked the car up, the ENTIRE engine was changed out for an older engine. The engine doesn’t run well, it doesn’t fit well in the car and it has different parts.
A 25/m says someone kicked in his door and took a swing at someone in his home in the 1500 block of E. 17th N. He says the guy was drunk and dragged out of the house by several people. He damaged some property as he fell over a couch after taking a swing at the other person. A third person says someone pointed a gun at him during the same incident. No one was hurt.
A 24/f says her ex-husband locked their two children (ages not listed) in his car for an unknown amount of time. She says the children told her about another incident where he locked them in a room. No other details are listed.
