Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department.  Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets. 

These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

Caught in the act…
3:36 am
A 47/m says he saw a man he didn’t know near his shed in the 400 block of W. Central. He confronted the guy, who took off on a blue & orange bicycle. He says the door of his shed was damaged, but the guy didn’t get away with anything.

Stolen truck…
11:40 am
A 30/m says he drove a company truck to a convenience store in the 100 block of S. Rock. He left the keys in it and someone stole it. The vehicle has red letters on both doors that say “Hong’s Landscaping”.

Electric scam…
2:04 pm
A 47/f says someone came to his apartment in the 3200 block of S. Clifton and claimed to be an employee of the City of Wichita. He said he needed to put a part into his electric breaker box, and if he didn’t pay for it by the next day, the price would go up. The man also told them not to pay their next month’s electric bill because it would be credited...and it wasn’t. The man received money from three people.

...and they killed her peacock…
4:20 pm
A 33/f says her home in the 300 block of S. Dodge was burglarized while she was sleeping inside. The crook(s) forced their way in through a rear door and stole some of her things. They also killed her pet peacock. Police have not made any arrests.

7:21 pm
A 14/m says another teenager rubbed feces on him and pushed him. The guy then broke a window to a home in the 2700 block of E. Conquest. The teen was booked into juvie.

8:34 pm
A 24/f says she noticed three people she didn’t know grilling at 5:00 in the morning in her backyard in the 200 block of N. Clarence. One of the grillers approached her and told her not to call police and that they were leaving soon. After they left, she found they left the grill along with several nail polish remover bottles and other unknown substances.
