These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

Not the cable company…
A 54/m says he mailed his cable bill along with a money order for the balance. He says some woman put her name on the money order and cashed it herself. Now, the cable company is trying to get him to pay the balance.
Snap into it…
A 27/f says someone used a “slim jim” lockout tool to get into her car in the 7000 block of E. Gilbert. The crook ransacked her car, but only stole some loose change. The car was parked in front of her home at the time of the crime.
A 48/f says someone threw a large rock through the passenger window of her employer’s vehicle. It happened in the 900 block of S. Bluffview. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.
A 59/m says someone vandalized his business by breaking out four double-pane windows with rocks in the 1200 block of W. McCormick. It doesn’t appear that anyone actually went into the business.

A 54/m says he received a threatening call from a tenant. The tenant threatened to come to his house and “get” him. He also said that he has guns and he’s not afraid of the landlord and he won’t let t
he landlord put him out. The tenant also told the landlord that he knows where he lives and knows where his business office is. He says the whole ordeal started over some repairs the tenant wanted done on the home where he lives. After an ordeal over the repairs, the tenant refused to pay rent and said he was going to move out, but that it’s been over a month and he’s still living there. The landlord says he was concerned for his safety and told him he was calling police. The tenant replied that he wasn’t afraid of the police “so have them come on,” then threatened him with bodily harm. He wished to press charges against the tenant.
A 39/f reports someone putting her daughter in danger due to unsafe living conditions. Police took the child into protective custody. The Department of Children and Families (DCF) was called in to check out the situation.
A 58/f says someone stole her father’s prescription drugs, which are mailed to him in the 600 block of N. Young. She isn’t sure who did it.
A 55/f says she found two crack pipes and a joint in a rental property in the 300 block of N. Elizabeth. The items were turned over to police as evidence.
A 48/f says an unknown man tried to steal her purse from her in the 2200 block of S. Broadway. She says the man also slapped her after she fell to the ground. She was able to hold onto her purse and the crook got away with nothing.
A 33/m says someone stole his two-year-old female Yorkie dog from his back yard. It happened in the 2300 block of E. Murdock.
1:10 am (Thursday)
A 51/m says his girlfriend set a mattress on fire while they were inside a home in the 1100 block of N. Green. He was not hurt, but she was taken to the hospital with potentially serious injuries.
