Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

A 29/m reported a burglary at a business in the 1400 block of S. Osage. He says the intruder used a set of keys to get into the building, but the alarm went off and nothing was stolen. Two keys, a white cell phone and video of the incident were submitted as evidence.
A 66/m says his daughter mailed him a check while he was out of town so he could pay bills. He never received the check, and found out that someone else had forged it and cashed it.
You didn’t see ANYTHING….
A 59/m who works for a business in the 2700 block of W. 13th N. says a customer was walking has dog and someone parked near the business made a comment that it would be in his best interest if he didn’t remember seeing them. The case is listed as a suspicious character.
A 25/f says a man she does not recognize was looking into her window at night. A friend saw the man the following night doing the same thing. The friend confronted the guy, who promptly took off running, jumped a fence and hasn’t been seen since. The address for this case was not listed due to the nature of the situation.
A 38/m reports a basketball player became verbally upset with another player while playing a game in the 2000 block of W. 11th N. The first guy thought his opponent was holding him too tight on defense - so he started making verbal threats, and wound up throwing a punch at the opponent. Staff got involved and separated the two. No one was hurt.
...And another thing…
A 37/m reports a customer coming into a restaurant in the 6100 block of E. 21st N., yelling profanity, then leaving. He then came back and yelled more profanity while the restaurant was full of customers. He left again and took off in a blue BMW.
A 59/f says a man was speeding around her in traffic, causing a rock to fly up and crack her windshield. She followed the guy to the 3400 block of S. Meridian and confronted him. She says the guy started yelling and cussing at her, but there was no physical altercation.
Just crossed out the name…
A 34/m says he wrote a check to pay his rent, but it was apparently stolen. The check was cashed. Someone just crossed out the original name and wrote in his own name.
Parking lot scuffle…
An 83/f says she was in a parking lot in the 3700 block of N. Woodlawn when another woman opened her car door into her car, causing some damage. She went to look at the woman’s tag, but the woman shoved her out of the way so she couldn’t see it. The other woman started yelling and cussing at her and was not forthcoming about her personal information. She would only provide her name and phone number.
A 45/m says a girl destroyed his daughter’s eyeglasses. He says the girl did it on purpose after his daughter told her about a boy she likes.
Thought he was sneaky…
A 21/m reports an employee embezzling money from his employer in the 14100 block of W. 21st N. while working at the cash register over the past five days. The employee was arrested for theft.
An 18/m was thrown against a brick wall and punched in the head in the 800 block of S. Hydraulic. The guy then took property belonging to him and someone else from his pocket. Police found the attacker and arrested him.
