Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department.  Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets. 

These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

Malnourished adult…
5:45 am
Police say a 55/f, who was dependent on someone else (sounds like her stepson), was taken to the hospital. She was severely malnourished and had poor hygiene. Police want to talk with the stepson, but he left before officers arrived.

Construction site theft…
7:13 am
A 33/m reports someone stealing property belonging to a construction company at a construction site near Kellogg & Webb. The thief left in a vehicle. The man was able to get a picture of the thief and his vehicle as he was leaving.

Drink of water…
9:23 am
A 74/m reports allowing someone into his home to get a drink of water. He then noticed there are charges on his debit card. He says the debit card was sitting on a counter, but was never activated.

Scooter stolen…
12:14 pm
A 47/m says his scooter was stolen from his home in the 3600 block of W. 13th N.

Dumping…
1:29 pm
A 37/f says someone keeps illegally dumping debris on her lot in the 1300 block of N. Oliver. She says she has a locked dumpster, but it keeps happening.

Rocked…
1:30 pm
A 28/f says she was leaving a business in the 7700 block of E. Kellogg when she was struck in the back of the head with a rock or a BB. Two people were in a car nearby. Another person says the same thing happened to them. Neither was seriously hurt.

Indecent...
3:10 pm
A 29/f says a woman is threatening to cause her bodily harm if she were to encounter her. She thinks the woman hacked someone’s cloud account and stole indecent photos of her and the person who owns the cloud account. She sent the pictures to a family friend and she even called her place of employment and asked to talk with her supervisor. The case is listed as “Disorderly conduct.”

BB Gun…
3:50 pm
A 57/m reports someone shooting a BB gun at the windshield of his car while he was at a stoplight at 31st and Broadway. He didn’t see the BB gun or the shooter.

Home alone…
7:46 pm
Someone called police and said a woman was leaving her two children home alone. One of them is a 9/f. That girl was taken into protective custody. Police are trying to find the other child, whose age and gender is not listed. Police had not made contact with the mother at the time of the report.

Speeding…
8:04 pm
A 39/f says her neighbor keeps speeding by her home in the 9000 block of W. Britton. She says her son was outside playing basketball when his ball rolled into the street. He almost ran out into the street to get the ball, but saw the neighbor speeding up as though was trying to hit the ball. She says the speeding was a problem a few months ago, but she had some words with the boy’s father and things slowed down. But, over the past four months or so, it’s been happening again.
