Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

A 38/m says someone stole his car about three months ago and crushed it without his permission. He’s pretty sure he knows who did it. No word on exactly when the crushing happened.
An 81/m says he made a verbal agreement with someone to let them set up a peach stand for a church youth group in the 5100 block of S. Broadway. He gave them some watermelons and cantaloupe and was supposed to get money for each box of peaches they sold as payment for allowing them to use his property. When the guy came back, the peach sellers were gone and he was not paid.
While they were sleeping…
A 40/m says he and someone else were asleep in their home in the 2400 block of N. High Point when someone broke into his garage and stole his car and some other property.
A 42/m says someone vandalized his garage door and yard signs. The vandal sprayed insulating phone into the seams of his garage door and spray painted some of his yard signs.
A 58/m says someone sprayed some type of foam glue with TP to some cars parked along the street in the 2300 block of N. Cardinal. Note: The report does not indicate what is meant by the term “TP”.
Drilling for fuel…
A 79/m says someone drilled a hole in the gas tank of his car, which was parked in the driveway of his home in the 4200 block of W. 2nd. He was out of town at the time. He says there was an electric car left out on the patio area. The thief took that, too.
A 20/f says her neighbor’s dog damaged her car by jumping up on the sides of the car. This happened in the 2300 block of N. Jeanette.
A 29/f says someone ripped an air conditioning unit from a window to gain access to her home in the 800 block of S. Terrace. The thief then took her property and left through the front door. The thief also left a cigarette in a bedroom.
If you build it…
A 68/m says he found a baseball bat in the front yard of his home in the 1900 block of W. MacArthur. He doesn’t know who it belongs to, so he submitted it to police as found property.
