Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

Changing a D to a B…
An employee at a pharmacy in the 500 block of N. Maize says someone came into the store and tried to fill an altered narcotic prescription. The employee confirmed the doctor’s original prescription of 5 Oxycodone pills. The altered prescription read “75” pills. The pharmacy refused to fill the prescription.
A 40/f says someone tried to burglarize a business in the 2500 block of W. Pawnee. She says someone struck the front window with a blunt object, possibly a hammer. The window stayed intact, but there was a large circular imprint in the center of it. The person didn’t get into the business and nothing was stolen.
Running car stolen…
A 41/m says someone stole his car (which was left running) from the 1100 block of N. St. Paul.. Someone else followed the car to the area of Custer and Murdock. The thief abandoned the car and took off on foot, but not before punching the other driver in the face. The vehicle was returned to the owner. The thief left behind his phone, which was submitted to police.
A 61/f says someone kicked in the front door to her home in the 700 block of S. Ida. The intruder then stole some of her property. She thinks she knows who did it, but she wasn’t positive.

A 24/f says she was working on her resume. She paid for the resume online and had her debit card jotted down on a notebook near her computer. She found out the next day that someone had used the debit card to put money on a card to have someone at the jail call them. She thinks it was one of her roommates, whose boyfriend is in jail.
A 39/m says he went to pay for a meal in the 3400 block of N. Rock when he realized his wallet was missing. He has no idea where it went or if it was stolen.
A 32/m says someone punctured the gas tank on a vehicle to steal gas. This happened in the 700 block of E. 47th S.
Check’s not in the mail...
A 54/m says checks sent through the mail never made it to their intended recipients. He doesn’t know if someone stole them before or after they were put in the mailbox.
