WICHITA, Kan. -

A stray dog that had been loose for the past 10 weeks in a south Wichita neighborhood has been caught and reunited with her owner.

The dog, "Lilly," has been missing since February.  After seeing our story posted on a Wichita lost animal site on Facebook, relatives of the dog's owner contacted him and he confirmed it was his dog.

A stray dog has been loose for the last 10 weeks in a south Wichita neighborhood. Residents say not even animal control can catch her.

They call the dog "Lassie."

George Theoharis, acting president of Mead Neighborhood Association, said he was riding his bike when the dog almost steered him into a car.

"The dog actually ran me into the street and I was almost hit by a car, "Theoharis says. "The car had to swerve around me."

The U.S. Postal service has changed the way it delivers mail to the area because of the dog. Residents were told they must move their mailboxes from their front door to their driveways.

Those who didn't comply now have to pick up their mail from the post office.

Wichita Police, Animal Control and U.S. Postal reps will meet with Mead residents next Monday to discuss the issues.

The USPS released its list of top 30 cities known for dog attacks on letter carriers.

Wichita ranked 19th on the list with 22 attacks, tying California cities: Fresno, Long Beach and Oakland, and San Antonio, Texas.

Houston topped the list with 63 attacks last year, followed by Los Angeles, 61; Cleveland, 58; San Diego, 53 and Chicago, 47.

A total of 5,581 postal employees were attacked by dogs in 2013. 4.5 million Americans were reported to have been bitten nationwide. The postal service says the number of bites nationwide declined 5 percent from 2012 to 2013.

Here is a look a the top 30 (62 cities are on the list due to ties):
