KANSAS LOTTERY -

Lisa Stuck is on a first-name basis with Lady Luck. A few days ago the 53-year-old Wichita resident won $220 playing slots at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane. Yesterday she won $50,000 on a Kansas Lottery instant scratch ticket!  The $50,000 prize was a top prize in the $5 Super Red Hot Crossword game.

"It was the last one on the roll," Stuck hold Lottery officials. "I bought the ticket at a convenience store, dropped off my husband at work, and then scratched the ticket when I returned home."

The first thing Stuck did after scratching the ticket was call her husband at work. Like many spouses who get news of a financial windfall like a lottery win, her husband thought she must be kidding.

"He didn't believe me at all," she said. "Both of us play scratch tickets quite a bit, but neither one of us has ever won more than $500 before." Stuck was finding it a little hard to believe herself.

"This is great, but it hasn't really sunk in yet," Stuck said. "All I can say is, 'Thank goodness for the Lottery.'"

Stuck plans to use the prize money to purchase a new car, make house improvements and fatten up the bank account.

Stuck purchased her lucky ticket at QuikTrip 384R, located at 2510 W. Pawnee St. in Wichita. There is one top prize remaining in $5 Super Red Hot Crossword (Game 562).

Non-winning tickets from this game may be entered into a second-chance drawing for a chance to win one of 30 VIP packages for the October races at Kansas Speedway.
