APPLE DUMPLINGS WITH CARAMEL SAUCE

CRUST – Use store bought or your favorite recipe
1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar
1 cup Water
1/2 Cup Butter or Margarine
Peel and core apples, set aside. (I used Granny Smith)
Divide your dough crust into 8 pieces. Lightly flour your counter & roll each piece into a 7″ x 7″ square. Place the cored apple on each square. Put 1 teaspoon cinnamon-sugar and 1 teaspoon of butter or margarine in the hollow of each apple. Gently pull up corners of the dough to the top of the apple and pinch together.
Place all 8 apples in a 9″x13″ baking dish.
In a saucepan, mix brown sugar, water & butter. Bring to a full boil then remove from heat (it will be thin). Pour into baking dish around apples, gently spooning over apples as well.
Bake at 350 for 45 – 50 minutes or until apples are tender and dough is browned.
