After arguably the worst off-season in the history of sports, the Saints will open 2012 without their head coach, GM and two of their defensive stars. Following revelations that the Saints had instituted a "bounty" system that rewarded players for hits that injured other players, Roger Goodell hit head coach Sean Payton and Pro-Bowl linebacker Jonathan Vilma with year long suspensions. Former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has been suspended indefinitely and assistant coach Joe Vitt and GM Mickey Loomis will miss large chunks of the 2012 season. Scott Fujita and Anthony Hargrove will also serve suspensions after moving to other teams.

Can the perennial playoff Saints recover from the self-induced tail spin?
