A convenience store called "Snacks" in Abilene is shut down after an investigation into the sales of the drug potpourri.
The Drug Enforcement Unit for the Dickinson County Sheriff's Department and the Abilene Police closed the store on Thursday.
The owner and manger of "Snacks", was arrested and is currently in Dickinson County Jail. Authorities say that during the months of March 2012 and April 2012 the owner sold to an undercover officer and a confidential informant packages containing two different types of synthetic cannabinoids and pipes used to smoke potpourri.
A search warrant was executed on Thursday. During this agents seized 25 bags of potpourri and numerous glass smoking pipes and other items of drug paraphernalia.
The owner of snacks is being charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, three counts of sale of a controlled substance, four counts of felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving drug proceeds and failure to obtain a Kansas Drug Tax Stamp.
The case is still under investigation. Further arrests are expected.
