Bob Huseman has had his veterinary clinic on Indiana Street for 36 years. He's had little trouble, until recently. Since December, someone has broken in twice, most recently, Wednesday night.
"The police called me about 12:30 and came to the house and then asked that I come down to the office," Huseman said.
The difference is this time, police caught two suspects in the act, thanks to an officer on his normal route.
Lt. Scott Siemsen says the officer noticed that an unusual car was parked near the clinic. Then the officer saw the backdoor had been forced opened and there were subjects inside. He called for back up and when officers arrived they announced their presence and apprehended the subjects inside the clinic.
This is one of more than 30 break-ins since September 2012. Police are now looking into whether these subjects are linked to any of the other burglaries.
If this arrest does help police put an end to the thefts, Huseman says business owners would be relieved.
"There's probably been about thirty different break-ins around Salina, so if they could get things taken care of, everyone would breathe easier."
