Saturday was the very first game on the newly-formed Salina Bombers schedule. They played the Wichita Wild. Fans flocked to the Bicentennial Center for a chance to catch the indoor football game.
"We want to see what it's going to be like, we've seen it on T,V of course, but when you go to a real football game it's different," Com Russell said before his very first indoor football team."
Once the fans entered the arena they were entertained with music before the game started. Each Salina Bombers player was also announced before kickoff.
People in Salina said that they were excited to have a team of their own.
"It's exciting , because I used to take my kids and go to Wichita to watch the Wild play, but I'm so excited that they're here now," fan Melissa Small Unrein said.
The two teams played in front of a sell-out crowd of over 5,100 fans.
"We were looking for a sell out, we've got the crowd behind us," general manager Michael Reid said.
However, the Wild's experience carried them forward to beat the Bombers 60-34.
