Police in Salina say a woman suffered a gunshot wound to the leg after a man fired a shotgun through a door.  It happened early Sunday morning in the 300 block of S. Oakdale.

Police tell us they found the victim when they were called to a shooting at around 5:15 Sunday morning.  The victim, another adult and two children were outside the home when officers arrived.  Two others, the man suspected of shooting her and another man were still in the home.

A Special Response Team went into the home and helped the second man out of the home.  The suspect ran out the front door and was arrested.

Once the standoff was over, the woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.  The suspect was also taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

Police say they found several shotgun shells at the scene.

No one else was hurt.

The suspect faces charges of aggravated battery, criminal threat and battery.
