High School: Newton High School

Academic Honors and Awards: Some accomplishments I have achieved include being selected as the Wendy’s High School Heisman Winner for Newton High School. I have been named a Kansas Honors Scholar, a WSU Presidential Scholar and am a member of National Honors Society as well as being inducted as a Quill and Scroll scholar for journalism. I was also selected for the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State team, and I have a 4.0 GPA, lettering in Academics all four years.

High School Involvement: Some of my high school activities include being a member of Business Professionals of America, Model United Nations, Student Council, Swing Dance Club, Chess Club, Drama Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Yoga Club, being an officer of Do Crew, participating in Future Farmers of America, as well as participating in Tennis, Basketball, and Soccer for four years each and am a captain for each this year. I am a three-time state qualifier, regional champion, and a state medalist in tennis. In basketball, I have been selected as first team AVCTL Div. 1, as well as being chosen as third-team All-State. In soccer, I have earned honorable mention all-league honors for two years and second team all-region honors one year.   In addition, I am the Vice President of the Student Body and the Editor-in-Chief for our school newspaper, The Newtonian.

Future Plans: I plan to attend Kansas State University to major in Communication Disorders with a minor in Leadership Studies.
