Space shuttle Discovery took off on its final voyage Tuesday, April 17, 2012, riding piggyback on a modified 747 to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's Virginia annex near Washington, D.C. Spectators lined Florida's beaches to catch a glimpse of its fly-by.
