VIDEO: Thunder battle but fall short in game 6

Wichita's season comes to an end after a 5-3 loss in game 6 in the round one of the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Houston used a two-run sixth inning to defeat Wichita State 3-1 and sweep the three-game series.

The Wichita State softball team run-ruled UCF, 10-0, on senior day to sweep a conference series at home for the first time since May 2017. Mackenzie Wright and Madison Perrigan led the bats, both going perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, with Mauriana Jamele hitting her first collegiate career grand slam in the win.

Mike Moustakas hit a tiebreaking, three-run homer in the seventh inning, and the Kansas City Royals outlasted the Detroit Tigers 8-5 on Sunday to earn a split of their four-game series.

Ryan Van Stralen scored 21 seconds into overtime to lift Wichita to a 5-4 win over Colorado on Saturday night at Budweiser Events Center and force a Game 6 on Monday night.
