Ron Baker scored a career-high 26 points as the Shockers moved to 27-0 with their 84 to 68 win over Evansville on Sunday.
Fred Van Vleet, Cleanthony Early and Tekele Cotton all also scored in double-digits with 18, 13 and 12 points respectively. Van Vleet also grabbed 8 rebounds and recorded 5 steals in the Shockers' win.
The game got close near the end as Evansville got within 5 of the shockers in the final 6 minutes of the game. A jumper from Egidijus Mockevicius made it 65-60 Wichita State with 6:11 left in the game. But Wichita State went on a 19-8 run to close out the final 6 minutes on their way to their 27th win of the season. During that stretch the Shockers hit all ten of their free throw opportunities.
Mockevicius and D.J. Balentine each finished with 19 points for the Purple Aces.
Wichita State has four games left in the regular season with their next game coming this Wednesday on the road at Loyola Chicago.
