Kansas City, Mo. -

As the Chiefs wind down training camp and gear up for the regular season, they'll be without their top wide receiver for the first game.

Dwayne Bowe has been suspended one game for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

The Chiefs released the following statement in wake of the news:

"Dwayne has been given a one-game suspension by the National Football League. We are disappointed in the situation and will miss him on the field, but we support the league’s decision. The club will have no further comment on the matter."

According to multipile reports, the suspension is related to his arrest for marijuana possession during the 2013 season.
