The Wichita State women's basketball team is headed to the Missouri Valley Conference tournament championship game. The Lady Shockers path to it was full of come-from-behind wins, including their semifinal match up with Northern Iowa. After falling behind by 11 points at halftime, the Lady Shockers came back to win in overtime 75-71.

In their quarterfinal game against Drake the Lady Shockers came back on a 17-point run to win. The same held true for their battle with Northern Iowa in the semifinal game. Despite a strong and physical start the Lady Shockers found themselves down by 11 points at halftime 32-21.
Wichita State proved it was a second half team. Eight unanswered points to open the second half started the comeback process. Senior forward Chynna Turner earned her 100th career steal and made both free throws to bring the Lady Shockers within three.
With 14:39 remaining Wichita State takes their first lead of the half. Precise shot selection allowed 12 lead changes throughout the remainder of the game. The perimeter shots became potent as the clock counted down. Wichita State's Jessica Diamond and Michaela Dapprich sank two consecutive three-pointers to take the lead. A Northern Iowa three-bomb with only a few seconds left followed by an unsuccessful Wichita State shot sent the game in to overtime.
Shocker sophomore Alex Harden played a big part in overtime. She scored first and finished the night leading Wichita State with 28 points. The Panthers were unable to match the Lady Shockers quickness and aggression in the lane. Wichita State advanced to the MVC championship 75-71 at the end of the first overtime. They will play the winner of Creighton vs. Illinois State in the MVC Championship tomorrow at 2 p.m.
