KU fans, enjoy Ben McLemore while he is in a Jayhawks uniform while it lasts.
The freshman from St. Louis scored a record 36 points in a 91-65 rout of West Virginia, Saturday in Lawrence.
He spent the final five minutes of the game sitting on the bench with a towel around his neck. The game wasn't in doubt.
The game didn't start the way a rout would, KU (25-4, 13-3 Big 12) trailing much of the first 10 minutes at home, struggling to find their rhythm against a scrappy West Virginia team.
KU went on a 20-6 run to pull ahead and then really turn the game into overdrive. Naadir Tharpe knocked in a three from the corner as time came up in the first half to lead by 14 at the break.
Jeff Withey kept his defensive play up in the second half, finishing one block shy of a triple double. He is up to 281 blocks in his KU/Big 12 career.
KU is still in reach of their ninth straigh Big 12 Conference title with the win.
