Wichita State pulled of a historic victory Saturday night at Allen Fieldhouse.

No, not in basketball but volleyball. Chris Lamb and his Lady Shockers are headed to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament after beating KU, 3-1 in Lawrence.

Wichita State (24-9) came from behind on the road and beat the Jayhawks23-25, 25-16, 25-19 and 25-21.

The Shockers didn't let the aura or noise of Allen Fieldhouse get to them, hanging tough with the nationally ranked and top-seeded hosts, especially after game one.

"We've had, like, three teams this season but when the good teams shows up on the court, I think these girls are capable of a lot," head coach Chris Lamb said after the game. "Good thing they showed up at the end of the season, it's fun to play your best at the end, that's for sure."

Junior Ahsley Andrade set the WSU school record for kills in an NCAA tournament game, posting 41 over the weekend. WSU came back and shocked Arkansas in five games Friday night, after losing the first two.

The Shockers went on a 5-2 run in game four to break a tight 20-19 game, ultimately subduing the Jayhawks.

Wichita State advances to the round of 16 and will play Southern California in the Austin, Texas Regional.
