The Fort Hays State women's basketball squad played its second exhibition contest in four days, taking a 88-43 loss at the University of Kansas in Lawrence on Sunday (Nov. 4). The Jayhawks were too much for the Tigers throughout the game, shooting a scorching 58.6 percent from the field.
Kansas opened the game on a 33-8 run and never looked back. KU led 49-22 at the half shooting 60 percent from the field. They cooled just a bit in the second half. KU had 20 points off FHSU turnovers in the first half.
Angel Goodrich led the Jayhawks in scoring with 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting. She also had six assists and four steals.
Kate Lehman led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 16 points on a 7-of-15 effort from the field. Katelyn Edwards also reached double figures with 11 points. FHSU shot just 30.5 percent from the field in the game and 14.3 percent beyond the 3-point line.
