The Kansas Jayhawks will play for the school's 9th straight Big 12 title this Saturday as they head to Waco to face Baylor.
The Jayhawks are currently on the league's longest winning streak at 7 games and they're 7-2 on the road this season. Baylor enters the game on a two game losing streak; the Bears have also lost 5 of their last 6 contests.
Baylor is led by pre-season player of the year Pierre Jackson who leads the Big 12 in scoring average with 19.1 points per game. The Jayhawks' Jeff Withey is averaging close to that in his last two games; the 7-foot senior center is averaging 18 points in his last two games along with 9.5 rebounds and 6.5 blocks.
Kansas has beaten Baylor once already this season. Ben McLemore scored 17 points in that game, leading all scorers, and he pulled down eight rebounds.
The Jayhawks, however, hang their hat on defense this season. Kansas leads the NCAA Division I in field goal percentage defense at 35.1 percent and is third nationally in blocked shots at 6.8 per game. Both stats lead the Big 12.
Saturday's game tips off at 5 pm in Waco. A win would give Kansas an NCAA-leading 56th overall conference regular-season title
