Fort Hays State golfer Trey Herman is six shots off the lead after one day of competition in the NCAA Division II Central/Midwest Regional in St. Louis.

The sophomore from Hays was as close as two shots off the lead at two under par, but a bogey at 13, a double bogey at 14 and bogey on 18 dropped him to two over for the day.

The leader is Marcos Sevilla of Southeastern Oklahoma State at four under. Herman is tied for 24th place and will tee off his second round Tuesday at 8:20 am on the 10th tee.
