WICHITA, Kan. -

Casey Gillaspie hit two home runs to lead the Wichita State baseball team past Bradley 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at Eck Stadium.

The junior went 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and two runs scored. Daniel Kihle went 2-for-4 with a double and Tanner Dearman went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Cale Elam threw eight shutout innings and picked up the win to move his record to 6-1 on the season.

Gillaspie belted his first homerun of the game over the right field fence in the bottom of the first to give Wichita State an early 1-0 lead.

Neither team scored until the Shockers added six runs to their lead in the home half of the seventh inning. After a walk by Dayne Parker and a single from Zair Koeiman, Dearman hit a single to right field to plate Koeiman. Two batters later, Dearman and Kihle scored on a throwing error by the Braves.

As the next batter, Gillaspie hit his second homer of the game, this time over the left field fence, to give Wichita State a 7-0 advantage.

The Shockers and Braves will play the final game of the series on Sunday at Eck Stadium. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
