Clint Bowyer lives life at close to 200 miles per hour, but today the NASCAR star from Kansas slowed down long enough to stop in his hometown and unveil his latest project, a community building.
After the Mason held a Keystone celebration and the official ribbon was cut, Bowyer took time to greet every member of the community that came out for the big event. That's because, for him building this multi-purpose center was a labor of love.
"I'm ready to use this building, see it being used for so many different ways though out the community." said Bowyer. "I truly think this is a unique building that everyone can enjoy."
This community building is just a long line of things that Bowyer has done for the community. In fact the idea came to him while he was in town for one of those charity events
"What essentially prompted this was when we came back here we have our annual golf tournament that has so much success and raises so much money for our foundation," said Bowyer. "But I wanted to do more."
And Bowyer says he envisions the building can be used for anything for business meetings to weddings to concerts and was constructed with flexibly in mind.
"Just so many different things that we built and designed the building for, so I'm just really excited to use this building to generate money for the community in the future."
The new Bowyer Community Building is located at the Lyon county fairgrounds, which is right on highway 50 in Emporia.
