The Hutchinson Blue Dragons fell in the first round of the NJCAA tournament leaving Coffeyville as the lone Kansas survivor. The Ravens defeated Walters State to advance to the second round. East Georgia, however, proved to be too much for the Ravens from the beginning and the Bobcats dominated 79-47.
The Ravens Montel James led the way on offense with 12 points but he was their only scorer in double digits. East Georgia on the other hand had three. Jordan Johnson led the Bobcats with 18 points followed by Tre Hagood with 17.
There was no comparison on the defensive side of the ball. The Bobcats were in control. Coffeyville only shot 27 percent from the field compared to East Georgia's 67 percent.
The Bobcats will advance to the third round of the NJCAA bracket to take on Spartanburg Thursday, March 21 at 6 p.m.
