Cleanthony Early finished with a double-double and the Shockers finished off a great second half at home, beating Charleston Southern 65-53 Thursday night.
Anthony's 20 points led his Wichita State team that was battling lineup issues due to injury.Carl Hall had surgery on his right broken thumb Tuesday afternoon, guard Ron Baker suffered a stress fracture and will miss six weeks and Evan Wessel has a broken right pinkie finger, sidelining him as well. All combined, those three had 28 starts to the season.
Wichita State trailed by one at halftime before the defense came back to life in the second, holding the Buccanneers to 34 percent shooting, and only 25 from the three-point line.
WSU for their efforts knocked down 40 percent of their shots and six of their 20 three point attempts.
Wichita State moves to 10-1 on the season and will play Southern Miss at Intrust Bank Arena, Saturday night.
