(SALINA, Kan.)—Arena football will come to Salina's Bicentennial Center, and residents will get to decide the team's name.
The city announced today that the new team will play six weekend home games beginning in March of 2013. The team is set to compete in the new Champions Professional Indoor Football League, or CPIFL. This is the same league that includes the Wichita Wild football team.
The Bicentennial Center says it is holding an on-line contest to name the team. Names will be collected through Thursday, Oct. 25. Three finalists will be determined, then the public will vote on the finalists. The winner will be announced Nov. 1. Suggestions can be submitted on the Bicentennial Center's website.
Tickets for games will cost $9, $14 and $22. Children 2-12 will get in at half price (excluding VIP sections). A 10% discount will be available for all active duty service members. Call (785)826-7200 for more information.
