Wichita State shot less than 30% from the field in a 49-44 lost to Missouri at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico.
Jessica Diamond led the Shockers in scoring with 18 points while Alex Harden had 10 rebounds.
Jody Adams' team was down by as many as 17 points in the second half but the Shockers were able to rally and get within 5 points.
The next round of the Cancun Challenge will pit Wichita State against Richmond at noon on Friday.
